The idea emerged from the necessity of saving the priceless know-how of Italian artisans threatened by the the economical crisis and the closure of the firms where they learnt the profession. Thanks to the technical, productive and commercial experiences we had, in 2013 we founded Persiceto Marmi, artisanal enterprise specialized in marble processing.   We are artisans in the broadest sense: every product is strictly handmade and custom-tailored inside our laboratory. This type of activity "tailored" had a downside: producing a huge amount of waste processing, small and large cutouts of beautiful gifts of nature that were destined for the landfill. Thus was born THE project THE BSIDE, dedicated path to retrieve the vast amount of cuts and leftover of stone processing. This is why THE BSIDE was born: a route dedicated to re-cycle stone manufacturing leftovers. In 2014, thanks to the cooperation with Youtool – web lab specialized in developing creative processes – we launched a new line of design objects and accessories where re-using all the raw materials was the must. Among all the projects submitted, we chose the most innovative forms, filled each one with the colors and materials available at the moment, and realized a collection of unique handmade items with an alternative vision on transforming natural stone. The collection was presented at Bologna Design Week 2015 and at Fuorisalone 2016, achieving resounding success for the designs and especially for the concept of reuse. With these premises, Persiceto Marmi would like to introduce a new challenge to creative talents: Creating a new collection, with more specific destinations, as are outdoor and kitchen spaces. Premises The themes of reuse of raw materials and the transit circular economy are certainly among the most actual, in an era when sensitivity, at least that apparent, towards the environmental issues is increasing and is taking root in the cultural debate on sustainable development of the planet. The scope of the so-called re-cycle already is, and will be more and more, the goal to be investigated to contain the consequences of the ecological footprint of our actions determine in terms of limiting the consumption of resources, pollution, energy dispersed, ethics of consumption.
